A daily reminder is an app for alzheimer’s patients to help them plan and keep up with upcoming events and tasks that need to be done in a day.
Research
After researching the struggles of Alzheimers patients, I found that common issues they faced were:
Remembering events
Planning events
Knowing the appropriate clothing to wear based on the weather
Keeping track of time
Face recognition issues
Based on this information I factored in all this while creating the app.
WIREFRAMES
Next I created Low-Fidelity wireframes:

Reflection
The reason I created this app primarily came from my double major is psychology. I have always loved getting to understand the mind and during my education I have become very sympathetic to people suffering from brain injuries or diseases such as Alzheimers that degrades the brain. I wanted to give back to them and try and create a product that could help them in their everyday lives.
The research process unfortunately had to rely heavily on reading and not face to face interviews due to the fact that I did not have access to Alzheimer’s patients or nurses during the time span of this project. I wanted the app to have bigger words and large pictures since Alzheimer’s patients are normally older and require things to be bigger. I wanted there to be a sense of gratification and success when they completed a task, so the small animations were there to further motivate them to complete their daily tasks. I want to further this project by creating an apple watch app that syncs up to it as well. Older people normally aren’t on their phones all the time so I thought an apple watch app would allow them to get notifications and remind them even when they aren’t next to their phone.
