Logo Iterations
When naming the company, I decided to go with “Legend” since the parent brand, Pegasus, was based off of the legend of Hercules. When creating the logo I wanted to relate it back to the legend of Hercules and Pegasus, so I focused primarily on horses, flying, wings and potentially putting the letter L in as well. The final logo was a combination of a Pegasus head and a wing with the horse head being in the negative space. The primary brand color used were a deep red, to relate back to the red in the parent brand. The secondary brand colors were a deep grey and a deep purple, relating back to purple being historically related to royalty.
Style Guide
Plane Wrap
For the design of the planes, I wanted the wing of the logo to still be a main focus. I put the logo on the tail of the plane so the logo was still clear and present during take off and in the sky.
TIckets
For the tickets I created a secondary pattern and put it in a different shade of red. The red on red gave a luxurious feel and kept in line with the brand. The secondary purple color was used sparingly for the text on the tickets. The curve from the wing of the logo was used throughout the branding material.
LetterHead
Here the secondary brand colors are really showcased. The secondary pattern was used again for the letterhead and the red on red was used for the business cards.
Other Mockups
Additional mockups include a snack wrapper and the home screen of the in flight entertainment. Since this is a luxury airline, snacks would be provided like most other airlines, and most high end airlines have in flight entertainments systems, so this shows how Legends would look.
Reflection
This was my first branding project that I had to expand to so many different forms of media. I had created logos in the past but never had to do the complete branding. Creating the logo was difficult because it was hard to get the horse head to be just right, but once it got there I think it became very successful.
I think I could have looked more at secondary graphics. I think if I were to revisit the project that would be my primary focus. I like the pattern that was created but I think more could have been done, and there could have been more variation throughout.
